BEWARE – DO NOT TRUST Brought my 2020 VW Tiguan in for a simple oil change and inspection. No issues beforehand. When I picked it up, they claimed my brake pads were down to 1.0mm and that my rotors and calipers all needed replacing—for $2,000. They even warned me it wasn’t safe to drive home (7 minutes away) and said, while I held my young daughter, “I’d hate for something to happen to your family.” No photos or proof were provided. Shocked, we left and had the brakes checked at another shop the same night—without mentioning what MDP had said. That mechanic told us the brakes were great—pads were a little low, but totally fine for another month. Other shops we called also laughed at the idea that calipers would need replacing on such a new car. This place tried to scare me into unnecessary, expensive repairs.
